What is “Yamagata Study Abroad Ambossordor”?

Yamagata Prefecture has the lowest number of international students among all prefectures in Tohoku region. In order to increase the number, it is important to encourage more people to selsect universities and other institutions in the prefecture as their study abroad destinations. The ambassadors work to raise awareness of these schools by promoting the attractions and studay abroad life in the prefecture both at home and abroad.

What are the specific activities?

The major activities are as follows:

1. Participation in the inauguration for “Yamagata Study Abroad Ambassador”
2. Posting information on SNS and web page named “Yamagata Study Abroad Portal Site”
3. Planning and participation in “Yamagata Atractive Experience Bus Tour”
4. Participation in activity report meeting and etc.

（１）Dates & deadlines

Recruitment for R6 (2024) has ended.

（２）The number of positions

The maximum number of 20 people, including both foreign and Japanese people
*If there are a high volume of applicants, we will select the candidates based on the motivation for the position and the balance of nationalities.

（３）Application requirements

All of the following conditions below from ① to ④ must apply:

① You are a student enrolled in a higher education institution in Yamagata Prefecture.
② You are willing to promote the attractions and international student life in Yamagata Prefecture.
③ You are willing to interact with other students and local residents.
④ Except in cases of unavoidable circumstances, you have time to attend the ambassador inauguration and activity report meeting.
